5 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
5 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
5 cups buttermilk
2/3 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups raisins
5 cups All-bran cereal

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sift together flour, sugar, soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and molasses. Add raisins and cereal, and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix enough to moisten well. Divide batter into five well-greased 2-pound coffee cans. Cover tightly with foil. Place rack in bottom of a roaster. Place filled cans on rack. Fill the pan with enough water to come one third of the way up the sides of the cans. Cover the roasting pan tightly and place in oven to steam for about 2 1/2 hours. Remove cans from roaster. Run a knife around bread and remove from cans as soon as possible. Cool completely and wrap in foil. Freezes well. This recipe may be halved.
