3 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces
1/2 c. soy sauce
3/4 c. white vinegar
1/2 heads garlic, crushed
2 bay leaves
1/2 T peppercorns
salt, to taste

Bring to a boil: chicken with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorn. Simmer for half an hour. Remove chicken pieces from the pot and broil then in a pan for 10 minutes.

Let the sauce in the pot boil until it is reduced by half.

Add salt to taste.

Cover the broiled chicken pieces with the sauce.

Serve hot over rice.

Note: A lot of times I will just throw into my slow cooker and after boiling, will just simmer for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Chicken usually gets really tender and falls off the bones-works great for kids. I usually skip the broiling part and also skip reducing the liquid part. I also skip the salt, because the soy sauce is usually salty enough.
